The ice rink for curling is 146 feet long and 15 ft 7 in wide. At each end is the ‘house’ which is four concentric rings. The skip stands at the far side and directs the play. The person delivering the next stone sets up in the ‘hack.’ He slides out across the house and must release the stone before reaching the near ‘hog line.’ The stone must travel past the far ‘hog line,’ must not fully cross the “back line” to be considered in-play.
